Last week was the end of the legislative session. Another issue of the Legislative Update will be posted once the Governor has taken action on all the bills Truly Agreed To and Finally Passed by the General Assembly.
Several bills have not been signed by the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tem. The House and Senate will convene briefly on May 27.
Last week was an uncharacteristic final week for the legislative session due to some unexpected interruptions. There were bills left in conference committees. One of those bills was SB 322 (asset limit bill). Not many bills were passed on the final day.
Todd Richardson, a Republican from Poplar Bluff is the new Speaker of the House.
