The DDRB Independent Living Assistance Fund (ILAF) supports individuals receiving Individualized Supported Living Assistance (ISLA) to assist with costs of household furnishings associated with living independently. Funds may only be utilized for individuals whose income is limited and who are unable to purchase new or replacement items on their own.Program Information Sheet
Individuals receiving Pre-ISLA or are new to ISLA services are eligible to access up to $1,200 for household furnishings if they have received ISLA supports for less than one calendar year.
Individuals who are existing participants of ISLA services are eligible to access up to $800 to replace household furnishings after they have received ISLA supports for at least one calendar year.
Individuals in Pre-ISLA services or those who are new to ISLA must have a signed lease and plan to move into their residence within 30 days.
Agencies providing the ISLA service will invoice the DDRB for reimbursement of purchases as identified on the approved Alliance Checklists. Agencies will follow all invoicing and allowable purchase procedures as outlined in the Program Information Sheet.
ISLA staff will educate and support individuals with comparison shopping to include purchasing quality items at a fair price.
