Direct Support Professional Award Nominations DUE JUNE 1, 2009

The Direct Support Professional Award is given annually to an individual who provides direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities, who are dedicated to providing opportunities for the people they serve to become active, valued members of the St. Charles County Community.

Please refer to the attached brochure for eligibility criteria. A nomination form is also attached to this notice.

Deadline for submission is June 1, 2009.

On Thursday, May 21, 2009 the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board will hold its Board Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Non-Profit Development Center, 425 Spencer Road, St. Peters, MO. At the conclusion of the regularly scheduled meeting, the Board has scheduled Agency Hearings regarding the FY10 Application For Funds. Both meetings are open to the public.

Blank Canvas Studios Art Gallery Show May 6

Blank Canvas Studios, an innovative “art based” day program that supports people with developmental disabilities, is hosting its First Annual Art Show on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The studio is located at 122 Point West Blvd., St. Charles, MO 63301.

Support the artists at their first showing as they share their creativity through a variety of media, photography, videography, sculpture and music. Pieces will be available for purchase with proceeds going to support the artists and replenish art supplies.
