Center for Autism Education

The Center for Autism Education (CAE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, therapy, and support services to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Serving St. Charles and the greater St. Louis area, CAE provides individualized programs designed to build independence, develop essential life skills, and improve quality of life.

School Program: CAE operates a year-round Instructional Day Facility licensed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), serving students ages 6 to 21. Through partnerships with local school districts, CAE provides individualized education and therapeutic services based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Services include specialized instruction, behavior support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language therapy. The program focuses on academic development, communication, social skills, functional life skills, and preparing students for greater independence.

Adult Day Program: CAE’s Adult Day Program serves individuals ages 18 and older with autism and other developmental disabilities, with services funded through the Medicaid Waiver program. The program focuses on developing daily living skills, building meaningful relationships, increasing independence, and encouraging community participation. Participants engage in vocational and prevocational activities, social skill development, recreational opportunities, and community outings. Through individualized support and hands-on experiences, the program helps adults develop practical skills, build confidence, and become more active members of their communities.
