The Developmental Disabilities Resource Board begins its funding cycle in November with a public hearing to gather input regarding services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Based on information gathered, the Board prioritizes needs for the upcoming fiscal year that runs July 1 through June 30.
Agencies interested in applying for funds for a new project or equity investment capital funding are required to submit a letter of intent. The Board reviews the letters of intent and may request a full application for funds if funding is available and if the Board agrees that the project is a priority. Each year the deadline for a letter of intent is the same as the applications deadline.
Typically applications are due in mid-March. An application timetable is released in January that includes all necessary deadlines and the funding priorities.
A pubic hearing is conducted in April to allow the public an opportunity to express support or concern regarding services and supports being considered by the DDRB Board.
Agency hearings are scheduled April through May with one Working Session scheduled prior to the June DDRB Board Meeting.
The Board makes final funding decisions at its regularly scheduled June board meeting.
